The Most Dangerous Game
Connell the author of “The Most Dangerous Game” values liberty more than equality. The first reason why I believe he values liberty more because he insults Ivan the servant in most descriptions. Ivan was the body guard of general Zaroff he was a Russian Cossack. General Zaroff insults him by saying “A simple fellow but like most of his race a bit of a savage”. This shows that Connell thinks that Russian Cossack are not equal to him they are savages. The second reason he values liberty is because he didn’t give Ivan any opinions or feelings he was more like a pet. General Zaroff said “but he has the misfortune of being death and dumb”. Ivan was a body guard and a servant despite the fact that he couldn’t read or talk, he was given commands
through hand gestures. This shows that Connell doesn’t care about people in a lower social class then him he believes that they should be seen and not heard, similar to the character Ivan. These two things show why I believe Connell value liberty more than equality.
